After many months of continuous practices, late night trainings, endless no. of sit-ups, countless bruises and abrations, the day is finally here!!! Having had intensive trainings for the past few days, it all boiled down to today-Rag Day. Warm-ups at 330am and full run at 5am aint no joke. We were tired...but we wanted to win so badly we ignored the lethargic side in us and gave our best. Hours of prep wearing costumes and getting body paints, we reached SRC at 1230.
Not long after, it was our turn to shine. 5 mins of fame in front of everybody, we gave our all. We danced and cheered and smiled and screamed like we had never done before. Our dance of full of energy and the look on the judges' faces said it all. The chancelor's shield is ours once again.
Standing under the hot afternoon sun in our costumes and waiting for results was sooooo scary. We held on to each other while results were being announced. We conquered the Best Float, Best Perfomance, Environmental Friendly, Best Flag results, and last but not least, the Chancelor's shield. A moment we have all been waiting for. We were screaming and crying for joy. All our hard work hadn't gone to waste. We, KR, are the overall champions for this year's Rag and Flag.
Many thanks to the costume designers who spent hours sewing our costumes. Many thanks to the Raggers for spending 24/7 making the float and painting the canvas. Many thanks to Kriss and Mel for your wonderful chereography. Many thanks to all Kent Ridgens for cheering and believing in us. Last but not least, many thanks to fellow dancers who worked hard perfecting our steps. Without you guys, it wouldn't have been possible.
