came across this play called Red Black and Ignorant from Edward Bond's trilogy "The War Plays" thought its actually quite meaningfull!
Alone of creatures we know that we pass between birth and death
And wish to teach each new mind to be as profounf as a crystal ocean through which we
may see the ocean bed and from shore to shore
We speak of our children before they are born
Carry them before we can hold them
Fold their clothes and lay their bed before they can wake
Sew and harvest and market their food before they can eat
Forthem we build streets before they can walk
And guard them from sickness before they can draw breath
For three seasons they grow in the womb while the world may age ten thousand years
When they are born the hands of mechanic housekeepers masons pilots designers
administrators drivers gardeners are held together to receive them
No exiled hero could return to a land more welcoming
No president could be received into office with such preparation
No victor be greeted with so much joy
We should not wonder that in the past children thought that the world was watched over
by gods
But now we kill them
we're so super cute :D
